Home Invasion Response – Why Security Matters After an Incident
Recently, our team was called to provide urgent security services for a client in Northbridge following a terrifying home invasion.
The intruders had gained access while the family was asleep in their bedrooms. Using a scanning device, the offenders were able to remotely open the garage door and fob-controlled gates, giving them entry without making a sound. Once inside, they targeted valuables and luxury vehicles.
Understandably, the clients were shaken and deeply concerned that the offenders might return to steal more property.
Our Security Response
We immediately deployed a licensed and experienced security guard to the residence.
The guard remained on-site overnight, stationed in a highly visible security vehicle at the front of the property. This acted as both a visual deterrent and a first line of response to any suspicious activity. Throughout the night, the guard conducted perimeter checks and reported all unusual behaviours, including vehicle and pedestrian activity in the street.
This proactive approach gave the clients reassurance and peace of mind during a time of uncertainty.
Important Security Recommendation
One of the key vulnerabilities highlighted in this case was the offenders’ ability to exploit wireless access points for the garage and gate systems.
We strongly recommend homeowners:
✅ Turn off the power supply to garage doors and automatic gates before going to bed each night.
✅ Install a simple after-hours kill switch in a discreet but accessible location, cutting power to these systems when not in use.
✅ Review and upgrade access control systems regularly to stay ahead of evolving security threats.
By implementing these measures, you can greatly reduce the risk of intruders using scanning devices to breach your home.
